Early contributors, Mohammed Idris (1926 - 2012) and Razia Chowdhury (1930 - 2014)demonstrated that you do not need money to do great things for people but must have a big loving heart with unselfishness intent. Mohammed Idris was a dreamer, focused, courageous, driven, and visionary with very little financial capability.
Work started quietly in 1965 when Mrs. Razia Chowdhury was moved by the fact that the girls of Ghoraghat, Dinajpur, Bangladesh were not able to go to school as there was no girl’s school in town. She with her husband, Mr. Mohammed Idris founded Ghoraghat Razia Chowdhury Pilot Girls High School on January 1, 1966. Currently, about 600 girls are attending the school.
Against all odds, they have slowly but surely designed and executed projects that had long lasting impact on the unprivileged children of the local communities. When they immigrated to the USA they continued their philanthropic work best of their abilities until they passed away in the early 2010s.
Now two of their children are continuing the work both in USA and Bangladesh.
